Exness "Unlimited" leverage is not a default setting, and it is not granted on request: it appears in your account's leverage menu only after your equity is below $5,000 and your real-account trading activity meets the threshold. This guide covers the requirements, the steps to enable it, and when it stops applying.
Requirements
- Equity below $5,000: account equity must be below USD 5,000 — Exness states the ceiling as $4,999.99.
- Real trading history: across all real accounts in your Personal Area (PA), at least 10 closed orders (pending orders excluded) with a combined volume of at least 5 standard lots (or 500 cent lots).
- An entity that offers it: unlimited leverage is available through some Exness entities only. Regions with a regulatory leverage cap do not offer it — the Kenyan entity, for example, is capped at 1:400. What you can select is shown in your Personal Area.
Unlimited appears in the leverage menu only when all three conditions are met. Demo trades do not count towards the 10 orders or 5 lots.
How to enable unlimited leverage
- Log in to your Exness Personal Area and open My accounts.
- Find the real account you want to switch and click the three-dot (⋯) menu next to it.
- Choose Change leverage (some interfaces label it Adjust leverage; in the Exness app: account details → Settings → Maximum leverage).
- Select Unlimited and confirm.
- New positions on that account are then margined at unlimited leverage. Follow the same path to switch back to a standard setting at any time.
If Unlimited is missing from the list, recheck the three requirements above — equity and cumulative closed volume are the usual blockers.
When unlimited leverage stops applying
Unlimited leverage is tied to equity. Once equity reaches $5,000 or more, unlimited leverage no longer applies and the account falls back to the standard leverage cap for its equity tier. If equity drops below the threshold again, the option usually reappears — confirm what your Personal Area shows. Your registering entity also sets its own maximum leverage, independent of your trading history.
Leverage also varies by instrument: unlimited leverage covers core instruments such as forex, while crypto and indices keep their own fixed caps — check the instrument specifications before you trade.
Risk and cost
With unlimited leverage the margin requirement is close to zero, so a small equity balance can support a position far larger than a standard leverage tier would allow. That is the attraction and the main risk. Low margin does not mean low risk: losses are calculated on the full position, so larger positions move your equity faster and can trigger a stop-out sooner. Spreads, commissions and swaps are charged as usual and are not affected by leverage.
A safer approach is to treat leverage as a capital-efficiency tool, not a reason to upsize: keep risk per trade at 1-2% of equity, set a stop-loss when you open, and leave free equity to absorb volatility.
Does unlimited leverage affect rebates?
No. Rebates are calculated on traded volume (or as a share of the spread), not on leverage — the same trade pays the same rebate at 1:2000 or at Unlimited. Rates for each Exness account type are on the Exness rebate page; estimate your monthly cashback with the rebate calculator. Still opening your account? Start with the Exness account opening guide and the transfer guide, then trade under our agency so the volume you build towards the threshold also earns rebates.
FAQ
Why is Unlimited missing from my account?
The usual reasons are equity at or above $5,000, fewer than 10 closed orders or 5 lots in total, or an entity that does not offer unlimited leverage. If it is still missing after checking each point, ask Exness support to confirm.
Do I need to apply or pass a review?
No separate application is required. The option appears automatically once you qualify and you switch it on yourself in the Personal Area.
Does it switch back automatically above $5,000?
Yes. Unlimited leverage applies only while equity is below the threshold; above it, the standard cap for your equity tier applies.
Does unlimited leverage affect withdrawals or rebates?
No. Rebates settle on traded volume and withdrawals depend only on available funds — neither is tied to the leverage setting.
Note: rules follow the Exness Help Center and what your Personal Area displays; thresholds and eligible regions can change. Higher leverage magnifies losses as well as gains — size positions to your own risk tolerance.
